Are you fed up with the typical Windows tone that plays on Startup?

Disabling the Startup tone in Windows XP

Many of them known this...Only for new one's...




1) Open the Control Panel by navigating to Start -> (Settings) -> Control Panel.

2) If you are using XP, it has the default Category View of the Control Panel. First Switch to Classic View by clicking on the option that says so in the left-hand navigation panel.

3) Double-click on the icon that says Sounds and Audio Devices.

4) A Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window pops up – select the Sounds tab.

5) In the bottom-half of this tab, under the Program events heading, you will find a list of different sounds. Scroll down this list to locate the option for Start Windows. Select this option by clicking on it once.

6) From the Sounds drop-down list right below this list, select the option for None.

7) Next, a few steps down from Start Windows, you will see the option that says Windows Logon. Select this option, and then select None from the drop-down list.

8) Click on Apply.

9) Click on OK, to exit the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties dialog.



If you want to put your favorite song as a startup tone, simply click on Browse after Step 5, and select the audio file to set it as a startup tone.
